As you may know I am a self taught guitarist and producer. From my experience, which was kind of hard and distracted specially in the beginning. I found out the best way to learn modes is to hear the unique sound of each. Each music mode has a strong distinctive sound, you might find this hard when you start, but with repetition you will hear it clearly. One of the best ways to practice modes on guitar is to improvise. In this guided jam I will share with you a simple chord progression of 2 chords. I recorded a loop groove and I will show you with scale and chord diagrams how to strictly play the B #Mixolydian mode. By the end of this video you will see how the Mixolydian sound funky and bluesy somehow, Unlike the parent/relative E Major scale which sounds cheerful, bright and happy or the relative C# Aeolian mode which sounds emotional and sad.
